Lyndon Jones is a Professor at the School of Optometry and Vision Science and Director of the Centre for Contact Lens Research at the University of Waterloo. He is also cross-appointed to the Departments of Physics, Biology, Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at the University of Waterloo and an Adjunct Professor in the Biomedical Engineering Department at McMaster University, Ontario. He graduated in Optometry from the University of Wales in 1985 and gained his PhD from the Biomaterials Research Unit at Aston University, Birmingham, UK in 1998. He is a Fellow and Diplomate of the American Academy of Optometry (AAO) and the current Chair of the Research Committee of the AAO. His research interests primarily focus on the interaction of novel and existing contact lens materials with the ocular environment. He has authored over 250 refereed and professional papers, one text-book and given over 600 invited lectures at conferences worldwide, in over 30 countries.
