Brad completed his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science from the University of Waterloo in 2009. He is currently working towards a PhD under the supervision of Drs. Lyndon Jones and James Forrest. His research focuses on linking protein secondary and tertiary structural changes to changes in biological activity for proteins adsorbed onto polymeric surfaces.

Alex completed his Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Waterloo in June of 2010. He began his PhD program that same year under the supervision of Dr. Lyndon Jones, specifically investigating the development of novel contact lens materials for drug delivery. He is also currently in private practice in Toronto, Ontario.

Varadhu started as an MSc student in May 2011. After completing a Bachelor’s degree at the Elite School of Optometry, India, he worked as optometrist in the Contact lens department of Medical Research Foundation, India. Currently he is working with Dr. Natalie Hutchings and Dr. Lyndon Jones on measuring tear film stability using a corneal analyzer.

Alex studied Optometry (BSc 2009 and MSc 2011) in at the University of Applied Sciences in Jena, Germany. After having worked with the CCLR for six months in 2010, he returned in 2012 to commence a PhD. He is currently looking at tear flow dynamics under the supervision of Dr. Lyndon Jones.

Heinz completed his Doctor of Optometry program at the University of Cape Coast, Ghana in 2010. He worked with the Sight for Africa Eye Clinic (NGO) for one year before joining the CCLR in 2011. His interest is specialty fitting, and is currently working on modalities of fitting semi-scleral lenses and assessing visual acuity and fitting characteristics. He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree under the supervision of Dr. Lyndon Jones and Dr. Luigina Sorbara.

Chau-Minh completed his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science at the University of Waterloo, followed by an MA in Biochemistry, developing inhibitors for steroid sulfatase, one of the key enzymes in breast cancer. He is currently working on a PhD with Dr. Lyndon Jones, developing ocular drug delivery materials (contact lenses and nanoparticles) for antifungals.

Hendrik started his career in optometry as a optician in Germany – Leipzig, doing a apprenticeship (2002-2005). He later received a BSc (2009) and an MSc (2011) from the University of Applied Sciences Jena in optometry. He is currently working on a Master’s degree looking at ways to quantify lipid depositions onto various contact lens materials.
