Nadeera came to the CCLR in 2011 after working in the School of optometry since 2006, most recently in administration in the Contact Lens Clinic. She has over 22 years of experience working in customer service, and is involved in fundraising for United Way and Princess Margaret Hospital.

Grace’s data management responsibilities include designing and developing databases for CCLR studies and querying and formating data for statistical analysis. She also liaises with IT to maintain, administer, and troubleshoot the server and database applications, and oversees the backing up and archiving of research data.

Amanda has a diploma from Sheridan Institute for Advertising. She joined the CCLR in 2009 and is responsible for recruitment of study participants.
Jane Johnson

Jane joined the CCLR in 2007 after twenty years of administrative experience in optometry and dentistry. In her role as research assistant, Jane supports the CCLR research personnel by coordinating the management and dispensing of study supplies to the participants.

Marina Simpson, BRT, Brad

Marina has worked at the CCLR since 1997. Marina graduated from the University of Pretoria in South Africa and is a radiographer and radiotherapist. She has worked as an ultrasound and CT scanning technician, a general radiographer and in a radiotherapy clinic. She was employed as an optometric assistant at the University of Houston and has also worked in optometric practices in Houston and Waterloo.

Alexandra’s main responsibilities include ensuring all files and related data meet CCLR standards, working with investigators to streamline processes and the training of Co-op students in various roles within the Data Management Team.
Marilyn Thom

Marilyn joined the CCLR as an ophthalmic assistant in 2006. Before joining the CCLR, she worked as secretary and receptionist for the School of Optometry’s contact lens clinic, and in the paediatric and special needs clinic.

Leona has worked in the optometric field since 1988 and has been at the Centre for Contact Lens Research since 1990. She is responsible for scheduling appointments for studies and participant and project renumeration.
